The info in the link above lists a "medium earth gray" interior color. What trim/color combo is required to get this color interior? I've got a gray interior on my '08 and I love it. The camel is too light & shows dirt, but I hate the black. Too dark & I think the black plastic trim shows scratches much worse than a lighter color. The gray is a fantastic middle of the road, but when I've played with the build & price, I can't get the gray option. I'm wanting a Lariat, so is it just not available with my trim/color choice?
JDF - awesome, thanks for the link. I've got a whole 1/2" of height clearance, provided the garage door doesn't sag any more and I don;t overfill the tires
No problem. Mine is about the same. I wish for more clearance so am still going to check into swapping the rear blocks for the shorter ones.
Switching from a 4" block to a 2" inch should only lower the cab a little less than an inch, not a full 2 inches. Seeing that the cab is centrally located between the wheels you will only be able to take out a part of the bed height difference from the cab. I imagine that you already knew this but wanted others to think about it as well.
I don't remember exactly how I framed it. I remember sandwiching a piece of steel between two 2x10's and bolting all of this together to make a 20' beam (since my door is 18'. For my 15 SD I had to remove the 3/4" redwood trim and replace it with rubber but this truck is going to be even taller.
I have had to modify several doors around here for the tractors so anything is possible.

Steel and Wood = Flitch beam. Can't go too high without extending the door. You could bolt an angle iron to the inside and then cut through the steel and all, or raise the beam up and retrim the jambs too. I am just thinking of modifying your truck and then having to repeat in a few years for the next truck. Maybe just put up a new building with a 13'6" door for the next generation Super Duty.
Without measuring again the current opening is 82". So I would have 2" overlap at the top. About another inch is all I would want to go up.
I have one shop 20' in front of the house that it would fit in and one about 25' behind it that it would fit in. It's just the idea that it's convenient to walk out the door jump in the truck and not get wet and it easy to get groceries into the house.
Wonder what an air ride system would cost? I could drop it down when I got to the house and on the highway when not towing for better fuel economy? LOL
