Carmax is going to send them to auction and hope to get 6-7k for them from a small dealer, who will then list it for 14-18k

If I was in the market, That sounds very reasonable for a low mile '05 V10 4x4 in good/great condition.

List it for 15k and see what happens.

In my market (Philadelphia and the PA/DE/NJ/MD market) I'd say that $14k is pretty much right on the money for a 9 out of 10 '05 V-10 4X4 Limited with 116k miles. To get that price you may need to be a little patient, but I think that is a realistic price, at least in this local market, the OP hasn't listed his location though and that can impact the local value. PSD EXs are mostly being listed locally in the $16/20+ range and most of them have many more miles than the OP's gasser.
