Been looking at f250s and Xs for a while and came across this one. Thinking it might be worth the trip to go check it out (about 3 hours one way). Any thoughts on it? Think it might be priced a little high...
It looks pretty clean but be sure to count all 20 exhaust manifold studs to check for missing ones. Typical shop charges for stud replacement runs $400 to $800 depending on how many fight back. Also check the trans fluid color after a good drive, it should be nice bright red with no burnt smells or dark colors. Both of these items can make a good negotiating argument. Same as missing suspension bump stops, at 120k miles the fronts are most likely gone as well as the ones on the nds of the rear springs traction bars.
Looks a little over priced especially since it's an XLT. If check and make sure it wasn't in a wreck since the badges are missing off the back door.
Good catch. I am suppose to talk to the owner tomorrow, if it sounds like it is worth driving to see I will pull the carfax it and see what shows up before I head down that way.
I don't think it's overpriced personally for this area. Bought our 2001 8 mos ago with 108K for much more. Granted ours is a limited but I actually would of preferred the cloth.
The price gap between a limited and an XLT is not near as much as the price gap between good condition and excellent condition.
Limited offers things such as cracked leather seats with limited stitched in them, broken auto climate control, auto pedals that dont move any longer, chipped paint on the painted grille, and outdated fake wood grain interior with chipped coating.... Lol. Im just kidding about all of that. Mostly
