check guages warning
We have a2006 motorhome on a f series class A motorhome chassis.
It has about20,000 miles on it.
Been sitting(mostly) for a year or so with a full tank of gas.
2 days ago wetook it for a half hour run and everything was okay.
Yesterday ona 50 mile jaunt we got beeps and a check gauges message appeared.
The gaugeswere fine but as the gas gauge is often stuck at max we put 14 gallons of87 in it to top it up. For the next 15 miles the warning was quiet.
Do these oldv10 engines have the vehicle diagnostic sockets?
Would theyhelp?
Does it soundif it does not like the gas?
In the pastwe have left it for 3 years without any additives or problems.
Thanks all

Something is going on that the PCM doesn't like, and ok, maybe the gauges didn't show anything bad, but that's the point - something SHOULD be showing on the gauges and isn't.
You say something about the gas gauge being stuck, how big is the tank in that thing?
It's not the gas, although I WOULD put some sort of stabilizer in if you're going to let it sit like that, not to mention change the oil right before.
Perhaps someone else with some related experiences can chime in here.
Yes, the "not so old" V10 does have the OBD-II socket for diagnostics. It might have thrown a code, which would tell us a lot. Get it read by a local mechanic or even go to Autozone or similar parts store, they have readers you can use for free. Get the specific code numbers.
