Electric power steering...hmmmm.
One thing I know about electric motors is that they are easy to burn out. I wouldn't want one controlling my steering, man!
My Saturn doesn't have power steering, and the only time I even notice it is when my arms are sore from lifting weights. On little cars like that power steering is unnecessary, especially if they set up the suspension geometry properly.

Always liked rack and pinion myself. I like the feel of it.
Brushless motors are more reliable than conventional motors....but it's still an electronic component. If there is no mechanical control of the stearing then I want no part of it!
They probably are not going to ask your opinoin. LOL. If you by a new car ten or maybe five years from now you are going to have it. I won't have to worry about it cause I will never buy a new car again. I don't need a new car bad enough to drop $10,000 or better the first year just so I can smell the new car smell.
Open Wheel Racers have been using this for a number of years.
F-1, Champ Cars not sure about IRL but who cares because they don't race Ford stuff anyway. The reason the hot shots use it is because it's lighter, faster, produces no drag on the engine, is more reliable and has 100% feedback to the driver. I think Ford really needs to step up and develop this tech for their vehicles. I don't think that they have made a very special general production unit yet.
