Problems with crazy sound
I have an '03 navigator 4WD I have a very crazy sound that sounds like it is coming from a pulley. But I can't really tell. I have replaced all idler pulleys as well as tensioner. I can't seem to get the PS pulley off. The sound gets louder when i push the gas. But I also have a very rough idle and I was wondering if that could have something to do with the spark plugs. I changed them with no problems a couple of months ago. The only problem I could think it would be is that when placing the boots back onto the spark plugs I mixed them up and not sure if I put the ones on where they came off. Could the boots not going on where they came off be a problem? HELP also any tips and tricks that you have to get the PS pulley off would be much appreciated. Yes I do have the tool but it still will not come off.

Sounds like a possible vacuum leak making noise and possibly the the miss too. Remove the belt and start it up. If the noise is gone, then it's a belt driven accessory such as the alternator bearings. If it is still there with no belt, then go from there.
