351w exhaust

Finally got my 351w running in my 76 ford
Now for the next problem my truck is very loud with the headers and I can't get my front drive shaft to fit with the headers in the way

I have stock 302 exhaust manifolds and I was wondering does anyone know if they will fit a 351w?
And is there anyway to quiet down my truck is a daily driver and it's just stupid loud
Thanks

So you're implying that your truck is 4WD, correct? That would be good pertinent information to include.

302s weren't offered in 4WD so your options come down to making (modifying) 2WD long tubes to work or going with shorty headers for your 351W. For the latter look at BBK's shorties, PN 1515. Then either you or a talented tube bending exhaust dude can fab up a system.

A 351 is about an inch taller and splayed out when compared to an SBF. Might wanna pie-cut the primaries and angle them in... might also want to consider shortening the collectors so there is enough room for a clean 90° bend.

Need to quiet'er down? Run and H-pipe. And the more chambered and longer mufflers ya opt for will reduce the dB levels....

Consider the Flowmaster 50-series, Flowmaster 70-Series, Hushpowers, Walker's QuietFlow mufflers, or Dynomax Super Turbos. Stay away from Dynomax VT mufflers because that stupid "Variable Tuning" flow door'assembly will break its welds and then the rattle/tinging will drive ya bonkers.

.

Yeah my truck came with a 360 c6

I did an engine swap and put a 351w with a 4speed

I second HIO Silver. When i bought my 78 the "gentleman and or lady" kindly swap a 351w in the truck witch is one of vary many things i have to sort out. (The OPs crazy exhaust skills). Haha. It has manifolds but you will have clearance issues either manifolds or shorties. The issue is not having enough space between the collector and passenger floor bored to have a good clean downward bend as HIO stated. Freakishly enough the driver side looks like it came that way. Maybe when i get home i can snap some pics to give you a visual!

Thanks for the replies
For my next question
When I bought the engine it came with a full exhaust system
But the welds on it are horrible and leaves a lot of leaks on top of that the headers where beat with a hammer and left cracks

With all these cracks and leaks my truck is very very loud in the cab and smells of exhaust fumes most of the time

I have a pair of 302 stock manifolds and I was wondering will these for my 351w?
I'm not looking for performance
I'm looking for more of a quiet ride

As far as bolt pattern to the heads yes. But depending what car the 302 manifolds came from i would triple check the fitment to the truck chassis and exhaust. And i believe, dont quote me, the 302 manifold has a slightly smaller port. Hope that helps

Here you go man hope this helps

As you can see the weld they did towards the frame and why they would have done it that way is beyond me. They actually flattened the pipe where it touches the floor bored.

I'm curious guys. I have a 93 302 with Hedman long tube headers. I need to get my o2 sensor in there somewhere, and I don't mind running dual glass packs out the side, but I'm curious who makes kits for hedman.... as they've not gotten back to me.

Local exhaust shops are wanting $1200 for a single side exhaust... I dont mind building my own if I have a kit or template to go off of. Prefer pre-bent stuff.

Truck details
93 F250 302 Shot cab, long box.
No emissions in this province, Just want to dump her out the sides if that is easier, but need an H pipe and some kind of help figuring this out.

...or, if Hedman has a y pipe for the 302?
