Chilton or Hayes manuals are very basic manuals. I am sure there is a set of higher level maintenance manuals available on CD for your year truck.
I am rebuilding a 1990 351W 5.8L and planning on dropping it into my 1991 F-150 4X4 Lariat in the summer. I was wondering if anyone may have a Chilton, Hayes, or some kind of manual, or anything with a COMPLETE teardown of the engine so I can see what sensors are what, and that sorta stuff, so I can buy all new stuff so when I drop it in, its all good to go. I have gotten the new flywheel I needed, and also am working with someone on this forum to get the correct PCM I need, but a manual would be handy and if it was in PDF would be even better. If anyone has anything please let me know.
Thanks
I have both Haynes and Chiltons books. Even having both is really not enough information. I'd suggest looking for a copy of the shop manual in PDF form on eBay. Another decent book is the F Series Owners Bible by Moses Ludel.
