So that has solved it for now. But the fuel looks cloudy. The tank was bone dry when I got the truck. It had sat for 5+ years so I guess there is some rust in there. My gas gauge isn't registering and I've narrowed the problem down to the sending unit so now I have one more reason to drop the tank. I'll get to that eventually but for now I will just pick up some spare filters.
