2006 6.0 making chirping sound and sputtering under load, Need help!
I have a 2006 f350 PSD 6.0l that blew the turbo a few months back. Has 102k miles. I had a large truck diesel mechanic near where it blew up replace the turbo. Everything seemed to be fine but started noticing a chirping sound that would start at 2500 rpm but only with a load like pulling a trailer or going up steep grade. I have looked everywhere online to try to find something similar with no luck. The problem is getting worse and I need to find out what it is. Now the noise has gotten worse and it sputters after each chirp. It is now between 2100 and 2750. The more I push it on that rpm range the more it will sputter. If I push it enough that it down shifts, it all goes away and drives fine although seems like less power..
I am running the stock program and have changed the fuel filters, batteries, pulled off and looked at everything coming and going to the turbo and just can't find anything. I'm not sure if there are some other gauges I should be looking at while driving but I haven't found any that look like they show anything while it's sputtering and making the noise. Also I feel like it does not have the power it used to have before the turbo blew and was changed.
I also added a clip of the exhaust. I put the 5" turbo back AFE. I'm not sure it's sounding quite right. Seems to hiss a lot more than I thought it should, Don't know if it's related to my problem.
In the video I'm hauling a 14' dump trailer with very little weight in it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

the video didn't show it well, why I asked.
Shouldn't be 85 or 15 and it should move freely, kind of along with the pedal with slight delay. Its a commanded number but not representative of actual.
but the video did sound like crap and when you shut down, could hear the turbo. It should be smooth, not choppy. Does it do that when stopped and just giving throttle? It sounds like a slow spinning something... A/C fan?

The best I remember, while making sure I stayed on the road, was it seemed like it was normal but sounds like I need to watch it more. I'll take it out again and see what it's doing.
Your second part I think your talking about the exhaust shot at the end of the video? Not sure what your asking.

On that exhaust, I probably should have let the video run out longer but no, nothing else is running. That hiss is the from the exhaust. I can get a better video tomorrow of the wind down. Part of the problem with the video is the volume level of the phone recording keeps changing because the exhaust sound is so loud.

Superduty Service in KC is a VERY good 6.0 shop and the owner, run6.0run is a member here. You might send him a PM and ask him to check out your thread. That's a very strange noise. Might be worth a run up to Grain Valley and give him a listen.

Didn't know about the VGT re-learn. Will give it a try today. The truck blew the turbo at midnight in bfe Kansas hauling a 22' enclosed car hauler, I was lucky to have cell service. The tow truck that we finally reached was a good guy and hooked us up with the closest good guy he knew. The mech. was a big rig tech but he also worked on other diesels and had a couple of 6.0's so I was just glad I could find someone. Still took two weeks because he was backed up. He could have robbed me blind but he took care of me. I'm assuming he knows what he's doing but I doubt he was a 6.0 specialist.
I got a message to run6.0run so maybe he will swing in and look. Great to know of someone that close that I can trust also! Thanks!

Well did the VGT re-learn. Didn't notice any change. Got a 2 hr trip in without hauling anything and it seems the symptoms are getting worse. If I am running 75-80mph the tach would be a about 2000 rpm. When I would hit a hill and start giving throttle to maintain speed but not down shift it would start sputtering pretty bad. It will only make the chirping noise at 2500 to 2750 but the sputtering is from 1900 to 2800. It will only do it under a load. I have to be pushing it to get it to do it but it is getting worse.
The one thing that I did notice is the truck boost gauge will dip with each big sputter but I don't see the edge cts showing the same result. Not sure if the cts has a quick enough refresh rate to show the dip but I would guess its a good 5-7 psi dip with each big sputter.
