Lighting question

I have a '99 Explorer XLT and when I turn the high beams on, the fog/driving lights shut off. Is this normal? Is there a way I can keep the fogs on while the highs are on? Thanks.

This is normal, and for good reason. There should never be a time when you need fog lights and high beams. High beams decrease your visibility in fog since the water molecules reflect back much of the light, therefore you don't want that reflected light that close to eye level when driving.

Yes, there are ways to make the fogs stay on while the highs are on, such as looking at the wiring diagram and bypassing the fog light isolation relay so the fog light relay is directly powered by the parking light circuit.
