VCT replacement help

My truck stumbled and I got a CEL. I had it scanned and it came back P0012 (indicating Bank 1 timing). It also showed P054A " Cold start B cam position Bank 1. suggestion to replace the VCT on bank1.

Is this something I can do myself (fairly skilled wrencher)? Is it under the valve cover? Can someone point me to a diagram, directions, etc? I've searched like crazy and can't find anything to walk me through this.

As I understand it, bank 1 is the passenger side. Correct?

Well, I took a look at the procedure for replacing the VCT in the service CD for my 2014. The procedure for removing the valve cover is 14 pages long and requires a couple of specialized tools. You might want to rethink doing it yourself.
