Comp on all cyl is between 160 170 accept for one number 3 I believe. It's about 28. I've got blowby. possible the gaps on the Rings had lined up.
can I repair that one cylinder I would appreciate some insight thank you
thank you partner this rain never quit I'll tear the oil pan off c what I can see if I've got to tear down the whole top half might as go on through it don't ya think?
If it were myself, I would just tear it all down and rebuild. Yer already in there, May as well spend the extra dough. At least then you won't have to worry about the rest of them failing. Each to his own though. Seen it go both ways.
I'd be very surprised if it was fixable from the bottom ... Very surprised!
The top is coming off, how far is yet to be determined.
I personally wouldn't even waste my time pulling the pan, I'd head right for the bank that has low comp and start pulling the head inspecting things as I go and stopping when I find the issue!
Yea, if it's a hole in the piston or broke piston you'll see it from the bottom, possibly even broken rings by seeing wall damage.
Is it noisy, have you listened with a stethoscope (screwdriver to your ear).
Broken rings and pistons can be heard if you know what you are listening for, they double clack.
For All I know it could just be a bad valve, but your comment about blow by indicates poor piston seal, not valves.
I am thinking bad valve also have you done a leakdown test or like I do, my compression tool has a detachable gauge and allows me to hook my airhose up to it and I hook air up to the cylinders and listen to where the air is coming out.
