Bedslide Roof Rack

Wanting to mount a Bedslide.com truck bedslider on the roof of my
Overland build.

They have tons of accessories and would be perfect.
Also would provide a canapy of sorts when extended.
Would require some mounts to make sliders level.
Hatch would not be able to fully raise when slider is extended.
My question is more weight related toward roof capabilities.

Thoughts?

What are your perceived benifits of sliding the cargo on your roof back and forth ? I think I am missing the point.

Roof top tent while slid open. Price is similar to any racks I've seen. Maybe mount some collapsible legs or foldable ladder as added support when slid open.

We just got one of these in at work, and it is HEAVY! I don't think the roof will support it without a ton of extra work. Plus, when you extend it, it puts more leverage on the mounting points (which are only at the front) and would likely damage your roof.

The 6.5 foot one weighs 305 lbs, and the 8 foot one weighs 385 pounds (for the HD model.) The classic model weighs anywhere from 161 to 263 lbs depending on the size you get.

I think if you are dead set on doing this, you would need some sort of exo cage to mount to. That would support the weight.

I'm gonna look into a low profile light wait rack. Slide rails are available. Maybe a ladder on the sides tied in for extra support
