Transmission Shift Cable Fix
I had the transmission shift cable come disconnected on my 2002 Navigator.
Looks like some rust covered the ball stud on the transmission shift lever and eventually wore the cable bushing oversize and the cable end dropped of the ball stud down at the transmission.
The obvious fix is to install a new transmission shift cable, but I found an easier fix. This outfit makes new bushings for the end of the cable to fit our vehicles (as well as a number of other vehicles):

and this page has a sort video on how to remove the bushing and clip from your old cable and how to install and adjust the new bushing:

And to align your DTR (Digital Transmission Range) Sensor, if you look closely where the transmission shift shaft goes through the DTR Sensor you will see a fine line scribed on the DTR and the bushing that the shift shaft goes through. With the transmission in neutral, align these two scribe lines and the DTR Sensor is calibrated.

Seeing as this replacement bushing is 3D printed, how does it hold up to wear and tear? I've seen this before, but 25 bucks plus international shipping to my place makes a complete shift cable more reasonable I think, probably just 10 bucks extra at the dealer...
