Catalytic Converter
How can you tell if your catalytic converter is had it?If it were gone inside would that cause the floor of the cab to be extra warm while towing a travel trailer?

If the substrate inside the converter is begining to get plugged from deposits then yes this could produce extra heat in the converter due to the restriction in exhaust flow. The extra load given from towing the trailer is causing additional HC or unburnt fuel in the exhaust which will also produce additional heat. If the heat shield between the converter and floorpan is missing that could be your problem as well.
