I have been having a heck of a time finding the right part to replace the axle tube seal on my 2002 7.3 Excursion. I believe it is a Dana 60. I can find the part number online for the F350 replacement. I bought it thinking it would be the same for the EX but its too small. The part number is BRS-170. This does not fit. I was at the dealer for 30 min. 2 different times and they produced the wrong part each time. Based on pictures I can find, this needs to be the redesigned metal seal. I know many of you say it isn't needed but as long as I have it apart I want it, I do go in saltwater and streams with small rocks. I hope someone here can help!!

As far as I can tell, the part number should be F81Z-1S175-HCA, unless it's been superseded.

 

I believe the dust seal you have in the picture that is all metal is only for the new suspension design starting in 2005. The one for our years is the rubber seal that will eventually fall apart again.

The part that come up from the above part number F81Z-1S175-HCA looks like the correct one.
