Wow, that sucks Rodney! IIRC you don't even have too many miles on your truck right? What did you do for a "road side replacement"?

Talked with Rodney this morning, bloody thing made a heck of a noise, but still ran, we thought could of been turbo but it would of been more noise than that, luckily just an intake tube, Rodney chased down a source for one, had it delivered to where he was, install, reset the ecu in case of catastrophic fail codes, and carried on rockin'. Luckily there was a restricted spot he could pull over to, patrol let him be since there was mechanical issue and wasn't lounging for fun, nice to hear that. Glad I could help bud!!! Safe travels!!

Going 2017 for a replacement and then reassess. Yes, it was the cold side intercooler to intake hose. And the one who deserves the reps is Mike aka: hoseclamp! He took my call despite having a worse day than I, talked me through identifying the problem piping, and then I was off calling Ford dealers. The best parts is West Herr Ford in Buffalo saved my AZZ and delivered the part to me (45 minutes away) in the service area where I was broken down! I can't say enough about Joe in parts there or Ed the parts delivery guy who raced my piece to me in no time. What a great dealership. I wish I had a place that good back home!

It cost me 2.5 hours but could have been sooooo much worse. I'm on such a tight schedule to get me to XLR, then Chicago for my family's flight, then Dells. I thought the whole thing was a bust for until Mike talked me through diagnosing the issue and West Herr made an impromptu delivery. Plus it happened right before an off ramp so I was able to cruise right into a huge highway maintenance area where I could work in peace. I was even able to borrow a deep well socket from the highway maintenance guys to make tightening my "hoseclamp" a snap. For something going really wrong, a lot went right to get me to XLR tonight. I'm late, I super beat, but I'm here.

Me too. June 28th = NFG. Oh, I forgot to mention in my post about the 1.5 hour traffic standstill on 90 so they could life flight someone out a mile up the road. Another delay sucked but the trucker I spent an hour talking to in the middle of the interstate was an awesome guy with great insight and stories. Almost made it worth while...

Def something I will replace with aluminum on my 17 450 before towing anything. Oh, and Scott, only 39,500 on the clock.

I know right. He blinked but then worked hard to make up for it!

Congrats on the self repair and not too much of a delay.

The engineer should be shot for that piece.

Thanks Scott. I wonder if the 17's will have an updated unit or more of the same? Josh? The price for that beautiful piece of craptastic plastic is impressive too. 149 and change with tax. I'm guessing it would have been covered under warranty but no time for that...

With the trucks we drove, the design has changed. Will it be better? Only time will tell. What we saw may also not make it to final production. Who knows. I know the H&S kit looks like it will bolt right up from my truck to a 2017.
