Possible broken clock spring?
Hey guys I just bought a '99 F250 with the 7.3 and I've been fixing all the little issues it had. Nothing serious, just stuff like alternator, brake caliper, lights, etc. When I bought it the dealer pointed out the airbag light was on and said it was more than likely a bad sensor or something, but when I later noticed the cruise control doesn't seem to work I noticed a lot of places saying that the two are related. From what I understand if the clock spring goes out the cruise control doesn't work, the airbag light comes on, and the horn won't work. My horn does work, so I am wondering if it's something else. I'm also used to driving my 2010 Toyota Sequoia which has a different cruise control system so I may be using it wrong. What I've been doing is hitting the on button (no lights come on saying its on or anything), then getting up to speed and hitting set. It immediately slows down. So any suggestions on what to check? I'm pretty new to working on vehicles, this is kind of a hobby/resume builder as a mechatronics engineering student. Thanks!

Upon startup, the airbag light/indicator should flash a code sequence... at least my 2k does. Mine has code 32... three flashes, pause, two flashes... repeat. And I believe code 32 is for the clock spring. So far, my cruise & horn still work tho.
