Question Carb Problem

I have a 1986 F250 4sp a/c with 7.5L engine. The problem is that someone had removed a lot/all of the anti-pollution devices from the engine before I purchased the truck. How, I found gas coming from two tubes that are part of the carburator. At the front and rear fuel bowls, they have a metal tube(about 3/8"dia.) and nothing is attached. Gas is running out of the tubes when the engine is running. I plugged thr tubes but where do they go?

Also, I plan to replace or rebuild the carburator, as suggestions?

Carb Problem

The tubes are just breathers for the fuel bowels. You should not have fuel coming out of these unless it's once and awhile if you hit the brakes or accelerate real hard. Sounds like your float needles are stuck, or set too high. It does sound like you need a carb rebuild, but I would highly recommend you get a new aftermarket carb from summitracing or jegs. You can get a little holley 600, that is almost identical to your carb, but will not be calibrated for all that smog stuff, so it will run better with all that stuff disconnected.
