I know there are threads on this topic, have read them and they helped a lot for me to understand the whole concept !!!! Now that I do I'm trying to dial it in to proceed with my build. Using stock arms with each scenario: 9.5 push rod 3/4 turn of pre load and .180 cold lash.
9.560 push rod 1 3/8 turn preload and .106 cold lash.
9.560 push rod w/ .020 shim 1turn of preload and .156 cold lash. ?? Which one?? Also the sweep pattern seems to favor the exhaust side on all scenarios. Except for the 9.5 push rod is slightly closer to center. Kind of leaning toward the 9.5 for geometry reasons and the preload is within range. But is the cold lash too big? I guess what is more important pre load , cold lash , or geometry ?? Has any one ever milled the the rocker arm fulcrum to help with geometry ??? Thanks for any help ?!!!'
