Smile 1972 vs 1978 shift linkage

I was wondering if anyone new any differences between the shifter rods for 3 speed manual transmissions on the column. Are the rods the same and levers different or are the levers different and transmission levers the same. I believe both are held in place with clips with different bushings. And information on this would be greatly appreciated. I've found some linkage for 180 bucks and if I can make the 78 fit in my 72 2wd it would be great.

Thanks in advance
