I have a '92 F150 4x4 W/5.0,E4OD. I recently replaced engine with a engine out of a '94+truck, so newer firing order on distributor. The engine runs poorly. Should I be using the original gray ICM or the gray one.
Any help is appreciated.
Yeah that is the remote TFI(ignition module), so safe to assume there were no wiring changes including the engine portion correct?
The '94+ motors use the 13726548 firing order and since you are new to fords... cyl #1 is passenger side front, cylinders are numbered 1-4 front to back on the passenger side and 5-8 on the drivers side, and distributor turns counter clockwise.
You say you are using the 92 PCM.
Your IDM comes from the Ignition coil and passes through a resistor on its way to the PCM over wire #11. A tan wire with a yellow stripe.
