Hey all, I've posted this in the tranny section but got not replies, so I'll try here.
I'm basically wondering if anyones got a diagram or picture of the kickdown rod attaching to a 4 barrel Holley with a C6 from an 85 f150. I think I messed mine up while taking the tranny out last month cause I'm having some shifting issues. I snagged the kick down rod and pulled it back quite a ways while backing the tranny out.
When it's connected it downshifts alright, but upshifts at too high of an RPM. With it disconnected, it doesn't really downshift but upshifts like it's supposed to. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes I did. They didn't really show me what I was looking for. I figured her out though. I didn't understand exactly how it was supposed to work until I seen what it was doing when it was connected and disconnected at the carburator. I had the wife move the kick down rod and disconnect/connect it at the carb while I layed undernieth the pickup and watched.
(Think I'll keep her )
The kick down rod was bent, causing the "switch" on the tranny to think it was supposed to be kicking down when connected to the carb/throttle linkage. Until I watched it it wasn't registering in my head, but makes sense now that I've seen it.
