Question Engine Swap Question

Well hey-I blew my old 351w in my ole 82 f-250.. Question is what engines would interchange with the 351w? I am trying to find a wrecked out truck for the engine. Are my only choices the 302 and the 351w or could I go with the 351m? Also does the year of the engine matter? I am looking at mid to late 70s to mid 80s engines.

any help would be apreciated..

Rob

Engine Swap Question

As far as drop in and go the 351, the 289/302 will if you use the 289/302 distributor and intake. the modified motors have a big block bolt pattern so you wouldn't be able to use the tranny. this is a brief answer but just about it

Engine Swap Question

if you go with the 302 your exhaust will not hook up to you manifolds the 351W is slightly wider, the manifold to head bolt pattern is the same you'll just have to redo the pipes. Sugestion why go to www.jasperengines.com and get you a 351 shortblock have your heads redone at local machine shop, or go with a longblock and reuse your acsessories, they very good co. have used ther engines, and they come with warranty, you could have a reman motor for a good price.
