If you put a 2005+ wheel on a 2004 and older, the wheels will stick inward about 2" from factory. From 2004 to 2005 the offset went to a +44mm.
OK, I'm uneducated in the wheel department, +44 offset??? I'm gathering that you're telling me that the wheels will rub on the inside unless I get wheel spacers to bring them out a little??

Yes. You really should find 99-04 take offs or go aftermarket if you want 18's. Look for "0" offset if you go aftermarket.

Thanks for the education, I'm going to look at a set of 1999 F250 8 LUG 4X4 RIMS AND TIRES 285/85/R16 INCH with center caps tomorrow for $450 He said there's about 75% tread left on the tires. At least I'll be able to get these Dick Cepick wheels off the truck, the 4 tires are bald which are 285/65/20's and I have 3 good spares on no rims but they're 305/55/20's and they're the Nitto Terra somethings with about 40% tread, I figure I'll toss them on CL, don't know what they're worth but see what I can get I figure $500-$700 maybe??
Great! Not sure what you can sell your current for, but looks like you found the right replacement set! I really like that size too(285/75/16). I have run a bunch of those on 99+ trucks. Just for kicks here is a pic of them:

Yea I would be happy with 500ish for everything. When I was looking for new wheels I thought about 20's for about a day then saw the price of rubber. I am glad I stuck with 17's, I just needed a wider than factory rim to fit the 12.5 width I wanted. You can always go aftermarket too. My wheels were 420 bucks shipped from amazon.
The wheels are ultra mongoose 17x9/8x170. They are 106 each with free shipping. The tires I had installed locally at America's tire. Those are 35x12.5x17 goodyear wrangler duratrac's and I think they were 980 installed. I would have to double check the receipt.
EDIT: Found the receipt. Tires were 1180 installed.
