I've always heard to use the recommend tire pressure but my 91 F150 has 31's on it instead of the 235's. The 235's called for 35 in the front and 41 in the rear according to the door jamb sticker. Should I still follow these pressures or should I use something else since they are bigger tires.
The pressure given on the tire is almost always way too much. That is the pressure for the max load capacity. I just air them up where they look ok, then draw a line across the tread with a piece of chalk. Drive a little bit and make sure that the whole tread is contacting the ground. You will find that depending on the weight of your truck that the pressure might be as low as 20 lbs. in the rear while the front requires 30-35. Good luck
look at those threads, they will tell you the correct method of determining tire pressure...mostly posted by me. This is a FAQ, so the information is there. Doesn't matter what tires or rims you have, as i said above the same procedure applies.
