Bad backup sensor

I went on YouTube and learned how to troubleshoot and found the bad sensor. Dealer wanted $200.00 for the part and they were going to charge $100.00 labor to replace it. I found the bad sensor and had it out in less than 10 minutes.
I found a set of 4 sensors on Amazon for $50.00. It shows Superduty up to 2011. I have a 2013. Are the sensors the same on a 2013 as a 2011?
Thanks
Bob

I'm not sure but I think Ford changed the seniors in 2012. I don't know if they are interchangeable.

According to HvBom, the correct part number for reverse park aid sensors for a 2013 model year Super Duty is 3F2Z-15K859-BA, which is the same part number for older Super Duty trucks including my 2007, which I have since sold to get into my '16. That said, in answer to your question, YES the part number for a park aid sensor IS the same.

Thanks very much. That is the part number on Amazon. That should save me $250.00. Hard to believe that they would charge $200.00 for one sensor and 1 hour labor for a ten minute job.

I just priced out that part on Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com and it comes out to $149.90US so $200CDN sounds about right. As for the one hour labour, I suspect that includes diagnosis using IDS, as well as installation. Diagnosis of a one hour labour charge is pretty standard practice for most dealers as a FEE, not what the actual time it takes. You also have to consider the situation. There are some instances in which simply connecting IDS (or whatever scan tool is used by brand X manufacturer uses) and scanning for codes is not enough to diagnose a concern, possibly involving further disassembly and testing. In those instances additional labour is charged as needed (how much labour depends on how much further disassembly as necessary). If one hour seems excessive, think of the overhead costs involved with being equipped to do the diagnosis. I, as a Ford dealer tech myself, chose to purchase my own IDS, which cost me $1800 for the VCM and cables, along with another $500 for the laptop and an additional $500 per year for the subscription and licensing fee. By the way, I see that you are in Toronto. Which dealer was it, if you don't mind me asking? Just curious.

I think it was a ballpark quote. He told me typically the labor charge is one hour. $200.00 for the part seems in line with what I've seen. He told me it could be as much as $300.00 installed.
I found one bad sensor on the passenger side. I swapped with another and the problem followed the sensor. My dealer has treated me well over the years. They're service has been outstanding. I understand completely what you are saying. No offence but I would prefer not to mention their name.
I just ordered the sensors from Amazon. $54.00 Canadian for 4. I'll report back when I receive and install.
Thanks very much for your help.
