The egr valve is simply a one way valve that can get plugged up but really hard to go bad.
I bet you didn't change the egr vacuum elbow, back behind the pass side valve cover?
You did say you changed vacuum hoses but that's usually where the leak occurs. Many times it will prompt a P0299 lean code.

You're right I didn't get at that elbow. I'll get that as well when I buy the sensor. But just to make sure.

Is DPFE just another name for the egr sensor?

Is it the same thing?

The valve and the sensor for the valve are 2 different parts.

The signal to the computer is sent by the sensor.

It is the type of EGR system.

DPFE = Differential Pressure Feedback EGR

DPFE sensor senses the pressure differential on both sides of the valve. This difference determines how much gas flow is occurring and the computer makes adjustments to the flow or to the EGR valve as needed.

Yes it is an EGR sensor. No it is not an EGR valve position sensor as in older systems. Hopefully that helps???

For live data the engine needs to be running and for misfire reading go take a drive with the scanner connected and running in the live data mode.
