New to diesel trucks and wondered if this recurring code is a serious problem. I clear DTC and truck will run fine. Might stay off for 2 days or 2 months and same code comes back. Truck seems to run just fine even with service light on.

Do you have any way to perform a Buzz and Cylinder Contribution Test? If not, search for Torque Pro and Auto Enginuity on these forums. A good engine scanner and the ability to save logs of different sensors is almost a must with these trucks IMO.

What year is your truck? How many Miles etc?

I wouldn't worry to much as cylinder #8 has to have a long lead injector it was a TSB, but not really a problem, run it as is if its running fine.

Should throw a code though, should it? I know they usually fail on the CCT, but isn't the originally quoted P0308 a fault code?
