Automatic hubs

Automatic hubs
I have a 1991 Ford F250 HD 4X4 with a Dana 50-IFS Axel with automatic hubs. My automatic hubs do not want to stay disengaged and are engaging while driving forward. Can anyone help me before I tear them apart. HELP!

i'd say ditch the auto hubs and replace them with a set of like warn manul hubs. auto's tend to do this. with the manul hubs they'll stay unlocked it'll you want them locked. look to see if the hubs on your truck has "if i remeber right" 7 allen head bolts. if so the manul hubs will swap right in without a conversion kit.

Automatic hubs
auto hubs have to unlock and relock up everytime you change direction. this make them very vulnerable.
if you are going forward and get stuck and try to power out in reverse, then your hubs have to unlock and relock in reverse. if you are on the gas when they do, you risk an axle or hub.
i say switch to manuals.............
