I just got tires yesterday and Discount lost one of my acorn style lugs and they got me a replacement but its a 3/4 and my factory lug wrench wont fit it so I need to find what size it is so I can order a replacement to replace it with.
Thanks, I knew it was 1/2-20 thread but wasn't sure on the size of the lug. Thought it was 13/16 but cant find the breaker bar I used to keep in the truck. Took it out when I got the OEM lug wrench and put it under the hood.
Not sure how deep they are supposed to be fixing to head out to measure mine I found a set of 20 on Ebay for $13.99 but not sure if they are deeper or the same size as what I have now. At this point I don't care as I am at the point of swaping them all out and then never again will I take the whole vehicle to Discount. From here on out I am going back to taking them loose tires and I do the installation at home.
I gave up on any "discount" tire stores years ago when one of the idiots cut the valve stem off an inner tube. Deal with a place here in Virginia that actually torques the lug nuts..
Well they torque the lug nuts with a wrench here but they apply them with a impact first. Thing is though their air pressure is reduced to the point that installing the lug nuts do not get them much over 60 ft lbs. Ive watched them use the impact then use the wrench a good four or five more pulls till it clicks at 90 ft lbs.
I just don't know how this lug nut got left off or left loose though. I just hope the Excalibur brand chrome bulge Acorn lug nuts I got off ebay wont rust, these lugs have been on the truck since '92 and they aren't polished nor cleaned or anything and they have zero rust on them. I would be pissed if this replacement one I got starts to rust on me.
