Just following your "strong" advice and removing my Edelbrock chrome air cleaner and going back to the stock and snorkel for "cooler" outside air to the carb...
I also set up a thermal switch under the hood, at 150 degrees, it kicks on a 12v dc fan, and, that too will use "Cool" snorkel air. When the truck is shut down, the fan keeps pumping outside air into the engine bay, and does not shut down till the engine bay drops to 150 degrees.

That might be 'never' on a summer day.
Snap switches are great for a lot of things, but I hope you have plenty of battery.
I remember the novelty when cars like the Tempo first had run after fans installed.
It is a 12v 1a "computer" cooling fan, just enough to "move" the stagnant, heated air that's building up around the carb. and the this is averaging 2 hours tops after shutdown, But we do have a "Cut off" switch too...
This does appear to have a positive effect to my now-mostly-eliminated hot start issue....
