The question for me is fuel economy. I feel that the 7.3 is better than a ecoboost. Some of you that get to drive both chime in.... thanks
I get about 18 on a 33,000 mile avg in the Explorer. I've seen 21-22 hwy at 80mph. I haven't done any long trips, but with the travel trailer it gets about 12mpg.
The truck is 15-17 avg on mixed driving, and I don't have a good long highway trip to base on, but it seems to be about 17 or 18. With the travel trailer I was about 10-12.
Also the 7.3 has happy and unhappy speeds. 60-65 is unhappy, which is really unfortunate considering that's a great speed to pull the trailer at. The Explorer will pull at pretty much any speed I wanted to.
