CB radio installation

I have a CB radio I would like to install in my 1986 Ranger. The black wire goes to the ground and the red wire is ignition switch or battery or something like that. I am not quite sure where to connect the red wire to on this 86 ranger. This ranger is a bit moe confusing than the classics that I ususally work on.

Either find a circuit at the fuse box that is hot in run or tap into the radio wire. Make sure you get on the protected side of the fuse.

CB radio installation

I am an amateur radio operator. When I do a mobile installation, I usually run power direct through a fuse back to the battery. It helps to eliminate a little noise (definitely a plus on AM or SSB) and provides a solid power source (helps a lot when you push 25W or more). For a CB you can tap like Ken said where you can find a hot, since you aren't pushing much power. There is a place called FireStik that has some cool antenna mounts. They have one that fits into the stake hole in your bed rail. I may get one when I put in my HF installation in the truck, but it'll work well with any 3/8 in CB whip. It can be found under "Mounts and Accesories, P/U Stake-Hole".
