We replace the old worn out gas pedal with one of the aftermarket ones. There was a pin on the back of the peddle that contacted the metal linkage extension inside the cab. It fell out almost immediately. I replaced it with a short piece of brake line but it continues to fall out quickly leaving us with about 1/2 inch of peddle movement. Has anyone else had this problem? Any good solutions? I had thought about a punching the holes through the side rubber and using a piece of treaded stock with washers and nuts. The smallest little things can be so frustrating.
btw - drove the truck to work yesterday and to drop off the drive shaft from my F350 to be rebuilt and loved it. Its about a 70 mile round trip. The truck ran great and had no issues getting up to 65-70 on the freeway with the new 3.25 gears. I have the 3.89 3rd member if anyone is interested.
Can you use a clevis pin of the correct diameter and length with cotter pin, from a hardware store selection? Didn't your original pedal have the necessary fastening hardware?
Is the truck he is talking about an F350? Or did he drive the truck so he could drop off the driveshaft to another truck that is an F350?

Sorry for the incomplete post. The throttle pedal is on our 64 f100. The pin I am referring to run horizontally across the back of the rubber pedal and is what contacts the metal throttle rod that comes through firewall.
