I just bought a new Ranger with the 6-disc in-dash changer. Anybody have any specifics on this unit? Who manufactures it? Ford? What kind of power is it putting out? What about speakers...what's the frequency response and power rating on them? I can't find details on this audio system anywhere.
I can tell u this,.... u will soon get tired of the problems the 6 disk is known for having. Speakers are most likely 5x7's 15-20watts paper cone no tweeters. Frequency response is not much/not much. The 6 disk is not not that great of a radio. I have had few problems with mine but I know how to deal with them. Doesn't sound that bad with an amp hooked up to it tho.
Yeah, I noticed the speakers don't seem to have as much frequency response as they could. Sound kind of cheap to be honest. But the thing is, people say if you remove the door panels on these trucks to install aftermarket speakers, the rear doors will rattle and will never be the same again. So I'm paranoid to mess with the factory ones.

I've never heard of this unless who ever told you that broke the clips that held his door panels. Or mabe he or she didn't put the door panel on correctly.
