F550 thinks trailer is connected?

Alright,

Working on a 2016 f550 chassis cab with a dump bed on it tonight that when you turn the ignition on "trailer connected" displays...

If you run through the system check the screen comes up and tells you the gain for the TBC and underneath it says "no trailer" but once the system check is over it chimes from under the dash and "trailer connected" displays again.

I have already pulled the 7-way plug and inspected the wiring as far back as I can get to without having to drop the fuel tank. Nothing seems out of place or fishy... Also eliminated the bed wiring, they have it spliced into the 4 wires from the harness for marker (brown), ground (white) LH turn (yellow), and RH turn (green).

Anybody experience anything similar to this? The truck only has 135mi on it, so I wouldn't suspect that any of the factory connections have had time to grow corrosion, but then again it's hard to say how long it has been sitting waiting to get a bed...

Thanks in advance!

My first thought is it's a harness issue. I had an 04 F150 that had an incorrect harness installed at the factory. My other thought is maybe the people who installed the dump bed tapped into the wiring harness under the cab incorrectly.

Just put it in reverse and it will go away. My 2016 F-350 does the same thing but as soon as I put it in gear it goes away.
