Trans slop
I have a 99' f250 supercab 7.3L 4x4, autotrans. Last year I had the trans replaced before it went out of warranty due to increasing transmission slap. That is, when I started out from a dead stop the trans would rev a little and then slap the drive chain. kind of like popiong a clutch just a little. It did it much worse when the weather was hot (ie. 100 deg F here in texas). As I mentioned, the dealer replaced the trans last summer and this fixed it. Well summer is here again, the truck is now out of warranty, and its starting to do it again! Just a little right now, but I'm sure it will get worse. This truck only has 60k miles on it. The heaviest hauling its done has been 2-3 cattle 100 miles over fairly flat terrain to market a few times a year. Has anybody heard of such an issue with this trans? I really like my truck and want to keep it, but I sure don't want to replace a trans each, or every few years.
