I'm going on a bit of a salvage yard expedition next week. One of the things I want to keep an eye out for is a set of brackets for a blade style rear bumper (the one that looks like the front)
I know 1967-72 will work, some one mentioned up to 75 would work?
Will any earlier or later ones work and/or from anything other than a truck (econoline?) "Correct" appearance of the brackets isn't important to me, only fit and function.
i did the same thing. Carolina Classics has what you need. they are in North Carolina. you send them money, and they will send you the part. they got the part to me within a week. good luck.
I scored a set (and a passable bumper, for a while anyway) off of a 70.
There was also a 66 and they appeared identical to the naked eye and without measuring.
The 73 on one also look very similar, it appears the bumper just has the holes drilled further apart.
There were about 4 of these bumper set ups, (I took the best ones) but not one single 428 (no real surprise there) and no 4 BBL FE manifolds (that surprised me a bit)
It's been a while but I remember the van bumper is shaped a little different along with the hole locations. Also there is no place to mount the license, it goes in the left door.
My understanding (from the catalogs) is that the 1948-1972 rear brackets were the same for the styleside pickup... I think I saw some on eBay, and maybe MotorHaven?
