more electrical help needed.
the kid that was doing the cab swap from the 04 F350 onto the 2000 F350 forgot to mark the connections, and as a result i now have 4 plugs i do not know what they are for. he left the 2000 engine harness on, and is trying to connect the 04 cab harness to the 2000 engine harness.
2 are in the main harness where the engine connects. i am pretty sure these are for cruise control, which the 2000 had, and the 04 does not have. one is for the abs wheel sensor on the passenger wheel, and the fourth is for the trans, which will be easy enough to find.
one other issue is he put the 2000 starter to battery cables in it, and there is no starter trigger wire for the solenoid on the 04 truck.
for this i am pretty sure i just need to put the 04 starter and battery cables/wires in.
anyway, i need under hood wiring diagram for the 2000 F350, and the 04 F350.
i think i have it figured out, he tried using the 2000 starter wiring with the fender mount starter relay. the 04 does not use this setup.
i will know for sure this weekend when i get back to the shop.
i told him yesterday to put the 04 starter harness, and the 04 rear wiring harness on it.
when i got there this afternoon, he was looking at it like he was lost.
it cranked and fired for a second, then dies. then nothing but relays clicking in the cab when the key was turned.
took me all of 10 seconds to figure it out, he had the shifter cable on the shift lever, but not locked on to it.
so as soon as the shifter was moved, it moved the nss to make it thing the trans was in gear. got the shifter locked onto the lever, and it started cranking again. tried to start, but felt like it was out of fuel.
he forgot to plug the fuel pump in.
so everything is now straightened out, and all he needs to do is put the rad support bolts in, bolt down the ABS module, and put the soft trim pieces on.
