My son has a 2006 Ford explorer that is showing the wrench light and giving a P0741 code. I have read about a thousand threads but can't find any where it was successfully repaired. I know it is a TCC solenoid code. The truck shifts fine, the tranny isn't getting hot, and the OD light does not flash. It only does it when he is running the cruise control and he changes speed. then when he restarts the truck the wrench light is gone and the code isn't always stored in the computer. I was just wanting as much info from anyone who has had experience with this code before it goes to the transmission shop next Monday. I don't want to throw money at a new valve body or a new torque converter if its only a $65 solenoid switch or a fluid change. Thanks in advance for the help.
I know it’s been a while but my 2010 explorer is doing exactly what you mentioned your sons was doing. Did you ever get the issue figured out?
