For any of you guys who don't venture into the 2017 area, here's a link to a website that allows you to build and price the 2017's. Ford doesn't have it up yet but this site did it based on Ford pricing and the current 2017 order guide.

I bet I've built 50 trucks since that has been posted. Only thing not optioned is the max tow package stuff. Guess they are wanting to keep the axles secret a little longer. Or I missed it while building them. Which is quite possible.
I don't think that would apply to a 450 though right Josh? It's maxed out as is correct? Even with all the info we have, there is SO much not known yet. I can understand why so many guys have already ordered but man, spending this much money with no numbers with so many gaps in the details... I just couldn't do it.

Karl,
Standing in Starbucks the other day was a guy with FORD on his shirt. My thinking he worked at some dealer or what ever and as it was a long line I struck up a conversation. Not sure of his job, marketing I think. But somewhere in the conversation I got to talking engineering stuff. So he says would you like to meet one of SuperDuty Engineers????? HELL YEA. So he takes down to meet this guy. Well he works on the SuperDuty, F 350 and is based in Dearborn.
Only wish I had recorded it because he dropped so much on me most of it was a haze. Also lots of what and why about why F 350 over the others what would I change, we spoke for about 30 min or more, then they had a meeting.
I will sum up what he told me this way: If you love your F 350 now, WAIT till the '17 and '18 comes out!!!! He said in every aspect the F 350 is going to be kind of the road, performance, handling, payload, towing, you name it.
He said he was not sure how Ford will deliver the improvements but there is enough to span 2 model years (17/18).
Anyhow I was really impressed. I did tell him the cruise control was the worst I have ever used on any car I owned and I had a '56 caddy that had it and it worked better. He knew of its faults and said yea the mpg drops like a rock when its turned on anywhere but flats. He said Ford knows this and he guessed they will change the algorithm. (I get a full 2 mpg better with it turned off.)
Well, queen of the road actually. The 450 will be king of the road...
I remember looking at 450's several years back and the differences were small. I think at that time Ford saw the 350 as payload and the 450 as towing. Today there is a vast difference between the two, you hit the 450 level and you are serious serious.

Correct. The 450 will be the "Go big or go home" option with the 350 DRW and SRW trucks having some options to play big or stay in the shallow end!
Rodney, then you need a OTR rig as even an F450 is still a "light truck". Something along the lines of the spacecraft rv link that was posted in another thread.
Anything bigger or heavier and I'd go to a super C like a Dynamax DX3... I always wanted a Freightliner. Yes, DPs are bigger but what's cooler? Being a bus driver or being a truck driver...
It's accurate. Lots of guys compiled individual pricing when placing their orders and all the option pricing matches. The higher trim levels went up more than the lower ones. Platinum 450's max out at 85k MSRP.
I was purely going on the basis on what can pull more, not was what cooler.
I optioned out my platinum truck the way I would want it and it came out to $77k... $73k invoice.
And I didn't even add some of the other goodies I could have - like it coming WITH the fiver hitch.
Although I did add spray in liner which mine didn't have. The dealer up here wants to make a ton of money doing it themselves, so they sell you the truck and then try to get you to come back and pay them $800 to do what Ford would have done for $495 (retail) at the factory.
