Battery tender

I have a 2002 F250 with the 7.3. My question is, I have a battery tender that is hooked up (pig tail plug in) on one battery. The fact of how the batteries are hook up to the charging system, does this mean that both batteries are being charged? Thanks in advance. HaroldMac

Yes, it usually is green. I had read where someone said put positive to one battery and the negative to the other, Didnt think that was right.

that way is for main power... but at 1 amp.. no.

the power way... is if one cable disconnects or become corroded... the charging is NOT charging one battery.. when 2 need charged.

one battery maybe over charged and the second one slowly dies.

I find my tender does a better job when it's connected to the end battery and not the middle one (if that makes sense). It seems that it charges both better when connected like that. If connected to the middle battery, the end battery does not seem to maintain as well.

If you have 2 12v batteries hooked up in series to make a 24v system, each battery needs to be charged separate. In parallel they both charge, but not series.

FYI- Costco has the 3amp Tenders, they work a little faster then a 1.25 amp.

Or you use a 24v charger but this has nothing to do with a pickup
