MPG while going quess?

I bought my truck used recently. While trying to calculate a trip MPG a huge road block. What would you guys think I should get with a 2013 with 3.73 gears towing a new trailer loaded at 6000 (trailer and load weight) doing 70 MPH?

Camping trailer, cargo trailer, fifth wheel or what?
At 70 MPH, the frontal area the trailer will make more of a difference than the weight.

And if you don't like your fuel economy, slowing down to even 65 or 60 will make a big difference.

11-13 would probably be my guess. Not factoring in wind direction, traffic, etc.... what where you getting?

Sorry, just saw it was a 6.2...I would guess 8-10

At 70... ?

I'd say 9, maybe 10 tops with no hills and no headwinds.

If you want MPG while towing, try it at 60, and see what happens to your numbers.

I'm double your weight and I'm getting 7-7.5 in winds and rolling hills. But I'm towing at 60.

I'd say this is a pretty accurate assessment.

Just don't get too close, or you'll be pushing!

I have the 4.30 gears, at 65mph I'm near 9 mpg towing 7K, this is rolling hills at 5000 ft elevation's, cruise control on.
I never tow faster than 65, even with the 4.30 gears if I slow down my mpg does go up But I'm not a bit concern with my mpg as this is my tow vehicle and I knew up front the mpg to expect for where I tow and cruise at.

Looking at your dash, if you're using the Ford "Lie-O-Meter" to tell you your MPG, I'd say you're probably getting more like 8 flat. They're notorious for being "a little off".

As big as his RV is I doubt I could push it.

I am definitely not worried about MPG. But not only was I curious what others are getting. Trying to use all your numbers to judge the health of my motor.

Ok, OP, we played along. So how about telling us what your MPG numbers were?

That's what I was wondering. If the number is too high or too low, we will just say "no way"!

I too get No way MPGs with my 6.2 while towing. I am no way near what I want for tow MPGs LOL. Seriously, I am right near 8-10 MPGs depending on speed and terrain. 8-9 in the hills and mountains closer to 9-10 on the flats. However, on long runs I am fueling up by 250-280 miles on the clock.

Wow! Reading this thread is reassuring that there is nothing wrong with my truck! My F-250 with 6.2L and 3.73 gears averaged between 7-8.5 mpg towing 10,500lbs at around 65 mph. Traded that truck for a 2015 F250 powerstroke. That same load on the back of my 2015 is getting about 13 mpg, a far cry from what all the liars are claiming they are getting sitting around the campfire.
