howdy
I recently bought an 86 f250 with the 6.9 engine. The previous owner removed the fuel/water separator because it leaked air into the system and caused difficult starting problem. The trucks now works great, however I am concerned about any possible problems that this can cause. Any insight would be appreciated.
thanks
If this is a major concern to you, a good idea might be to get rid of the factory fuel filter and invest in one that has the water seperator built in. Racor rings a bell...
If its the same as a 92 7.3 you can get a filter with a drain and eletric plug hookup already on it. I used a Baldwin Filter #BF1222-SP. Got it from the Navstar dealer in my area.
