squeling/shaking at 40-50mph
just so you know what i have...88f150, 4.9, m5od, 2wd. at about 40-50 mph there is a faint squealing that seems to be coming from the front half of the truck(since it only happens then, i cant pinpoint it exactly). and also, there is some shaking goin on, similar to a off balance tire, but since it is not coming through the steering wheel, it seems unlikely that it is from the front two tires. what could it be? my dad and i got together tonight and talked about it and we thought it could be the throwout bearing, but not likely because that would squeal all the time right? what about the driveshaft or u-joints? shaft has not been balanced to my knowledge, and the u joints not replaced. we also talked about the rearend...but i'm kinda stumped. truck has 225000 miles, 94 4.9 has bout 100000 miles, new tranny has bout 25-30k. new brake rotors bout 2000 miles ago....just tryin to think of anything.....any info would be greatly appreciated.
