manual glow plugs

prepurchase inspection 1985 F-250 4x4 6.9 has manual glow plugs re:switch how do I go about changing it back/ what expense/parts will I need?

WHY!!!
I've had two controllers go out on my 86' 6.9 toasting the glow plugs both times. I switched to a manual and it works great.

Trooperkelly is right, I switched to a manual also,I recommend to keep the switch, I toasted a bunch too, especially when it came on while driving !!!!

Mine are on manual too... it's great if it wont start in the dead of winter.... switch em off wait a couple seconds to cool and a 3 second shot of either fires it right up lol

Another thing,
The last time the gp's came on while driving, one gp tip went through the exhaust and kinked a pushrod, I definately advise you to keep the manual switch!
