I made a post about 1985 Ford F-350 with outside lighting problems on the wrong forum. Maybe it will get posted here if not, I am in serious need of a wiring diagram or a electrical schematic for a 1985 Ford F-350. Appreciate any or all help you may send my way.
This is what you want. I assume you were looking for an image or link to read it on your computer for free, but trust me this is worth the $11.02+Shipping.
Gary's website has most electrical diagrams as well as tons of great information about these trucks. Bookmark his page, it is a valuable reference. From the home page go 80-86 trucks > electrical> EVTM> 1986 EVTM> and then the specific system
Thanks for the plug, Jonathan. Here's a link directly to the 1986 EVTM: 1986 EVTM - Gary's Garagemahal. Just scroll down and click on the link to Exterior Lamps or Turn, Stop, & Hazard.
But, as the OP has an '85 truck I should point out that the 85's were the last to have hash marks and dots on the wires, and in '86 those were eliminated. So, the '86 diagram is slightly wrong for '85 and earlier trucks. Given that, for things that were available on '81 trucks you can use the 1981 EVTM as it does show the hashes and dots: 1981 EVTM - Gary's Garagemahal
Hmm, I'll have to check my '85 EVTM at home, and nose around under the hood, etc. I don't remember seeing dots/hashes, only stripes/solids. 'Course, that's only based on the parts of the manual I've used.
(BTW, the manual not-linked in post #2 is... a few bucks more than $11.02, and it doesn't contain wiring diagrams.)

Gary, when I navigate from the home page to the 1986 EVTM and copy the address bar, it directs me back to a different menu page for 80-86 trucks with "electrical" highlighted but from there I could not find a direct pathway to the EVTM. I had to use the menu button in the corner and navigate to it. Perhaps this is a smart phone shortcoming. I'd like to know how to paste in the direct links. You usually get to it first on this forum but I like to spread the good word to our brothers on the diesel board when these kinds of questions come up.
Jonathan - I'm not sure what you are doing right or wrong, but you did point out a problem on the site. When I created that Electrical page there was only one EVTM - the 1981 version. So, it didn't show the '86 version. It does now. Thanks.
So, please try again. But, if it still doesn't work please tell me in different words what is happening as those words don't work for me.

I figured it out Gary, I deserve a dunce cap for several reasons... but my main mistake was that I was attempting to link a step in the menu navigation, not an actual page. Therefore the address bar still reflected the page I was navigating from... since I had not actually opened a new page. I needed to go one more click to open the page, vs. just the menu of the page if that makes sense. Anyway, got it now
