1988 F-250 repaint thread
Starting a thread to document the repaint on my truck and mild restoration, first I'll tell you about the truck.
Its a 1988 Ford f-250 4x4 with a 300 i6, 5 speed reg cab long bed it has the factory alcoas on it also, ive had it for about 2 years, here is what ive done so far.
Replace fuel pumps in tanks and on rail
Replace Brake pads rotors and booster and master cyl.
Replace Clutch and throwout bearing
Replace all U-Joints
Replace Stereo and speakers
Replace Inner and outer tie rods
Replace all hard and soft brake lines
Replace tires with 235/85/16 street tires as temps
Plans are as follows
Obviously paint and rust repair using dark shadow blue metallic factory color.
Paint frame and under carriage
Replace shocks
Replace Head tail and cab lights and lenses
Replace headliner and rubber mat
Replace seat cover
Repaint all dash and panels im thinking grey
Make a/c work again
Im also thinking of 285 or 305 mud tires with either white spoke wheels or AR outlaw 2 in a 16x10 everyone says their trailer wheels but on these trucks they just look right on them, i guess its because thats what everyone had when i was a teenager on these trucks.
So far today i took off the bed, stripped lights, mirrors, and fender trim and started sanding.
Anyhow thanks for looking and im sure ill have a ton of questions, heres some pics.
Stay tuned
